Lecture and Familiarization
Chapter II, Regulation III/4 STCW Code A and Chapter II, Section B-II/4.
This course covers the training recommended in Chapter III, Regulation III/4, Chapter III, Section A-III/4 Chapter III, Section B-III/4 STCW-78 as amended in 1995.
A trainee who successfully completes this course will be able to perform the duties and responsibilities of a rating forming part of an engineering watch, and demonstrate the required competency.

Keeping a Boiler Watch
Basic knowledge in some operation based on Reg. III/4, Section B-III/4
Carry out a watch routine appropriate to duties of rating part of an engine watch
Understand order and be understood in matters relevant to watchkeeping duties
Operate emergency equipment and apply emergency procedures
Maintain Procedure, Machinery & Tools in the Engine Room
Be a high school graduate.
Be not less than 18 years old.
Be physically fit.
Have undergone an approved period of seagoing service, which shall not be less than (2) months.
