This course covers the requirements and guidelines setting on how things should be done in an organization. Implementation of well-defined routines for dealing with all environmental issues is becoming increasingly important for competitiveness of many companies. Environmental Management Systems (EMS), including environmental auditing schemes, have successfully been applied to land-based and sea-based projects and implemented in industrial organizations for a number of years. And because they can be systemized, they can be standardized, benchmarked, assessed and therefore reviewed and approved.
A trainee who successfully completes this course will be able to:
  • Define the ISO 14001 requirements and its impact on the ISO standards
  • Upgrade existing management systems to meet the ISO 14001 requirements
  • Acquire skills needed to conduct an evaluation of significant environmental impacts
